Sentenced by Chief Judge Alex R. Munson was Zhan Dong Guo of China.
Upon his release, Zhan Dong Guo will serve three years of supervised release with several conditions.
He is prohibited from the use of alcohol and possession of a controlled substance.
He will submit to one drug test within 15 days from his release and at least two periodic drug tests thereafter.
He will submit his DNA sample at the direction of the U.S. Probation Office.
In addition, he will render 200 hours community service and pay a special assessment fee of $300 after the sentencing.
Zhan Dong Guo appeared in court with his counsel, Robert Torres. The federal government was represented by assistant U.S. Attorney Beverly McCalum.
After the hearing, Zhan Dong Guo was remanded into the custody of the U.S. Marshal Service.
He earlier pleaded guilty to the three counts charged against him.
Based on the information filed by the prosecution in the federal court, Zhan Dong Guo was arrested on charges of distributing methampethamine hydrochloride or “ice.”
According to the prosecution, he distributed .19 grams of “ice” on Jan. 9, 22 grams on Jan. 10, and another .19 grams on the same day, for a total of .59 grams of “ice” to an undercover police officer.
Zhan Dong Guo said he resorted to distributing “ice” to raise money for his airfare to China after his employer abandoned him.
