NMHC community development block grant technical coordinator Clemente Sablan told the Variety in a telephone interview that they will be working on the road from the entrance of Husga Avenue to Chalan Pale Arnold Garapan to Saipan Gold’s Gym.
“The road will be closed from July 25 to Aug. 9, 2008 and this is to give way for our equipment and workers to cut the trees,” Sablan said.
He said the public can use an alternate route when going to Chinatown.
“The Sugar King Road and Commonwealth Drive can be used as alternate routes,” he said.
Sablan added that they decided to clear up the trees to avoid accidents on the road.
He said with the trees on the roadside, there is the risk of accidents occurring.
