Chalan Kanoa store robbed

Department of Public Safety spokeswoman Lei Ogumoro said the robbery incident was reported at 6:49 p.m. on June 26.

Based on preliminary investigation, Ogumoro said two unidentified men entered Joy Market on Beach Road in Chalan Kanoa and demanded money.

Ogumoro said the first suspect was armed with a knife and was wearing a blue long-sleeved shirt and blue jeans. The second individual was armed with a machete and was wearing a long-sleeved white shirt with black stripes and black pants.

Both  wore white cloth with a black design over their heads to conceal their faces.

According to the victims, the suspects threatened and held them at knife point.

Ogumoro said the perpetrators fled the scene with an undetermined amount of money as well as store merchandise.

This case is still under investigation.
