CUC acting power division manager Gary P. Camacho said the load shedding operation is not due to shortage of fuel supply, but is caused by engine problems.
According to yesterday’s power generation status report of CUC, engines #1, 2, 4, 5, and 7 were not operational, while engines #3, 6, and 8 were online, although operating below their required capacity.
Engine #3 is designed to produce 7.3 megawatts, but is generating 5 megawatts only.
Engines #6 and 8 are designed to produce 13 megawatts but are producing only 5 megawatts each.
