Mariano R. Iglecias, CUC water manager, said all necessary materials to complete the project on Capital Hill have arrived.
CUC’s contractor, Maeda Pacific Corp., will replace old pipes that have been installed in the 1950s.
Chalan Galaide, Capital Hill, Wireless Ridge, Talafofo, Tapochau, and I Denni will experience water service interruptions.
The water project is scheduled to be finished in September.
“We will try to minimize the water outage,” the CUC water manager said. “The purpose of this work is to improve and continue water delivery.”
Maeda Pacific will also rehabilitate the concrete water tank on Capital Hill.
The $200,000-project is funded in part by the U.S. Department of the Interior, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, the Northern Marianas Housing Corp., and the CNMI water task force.
