NMI golf groups to compete in Blue Tee Challenge

A competitive golf tournament, the Blue Tee Challenge, according to COP’s Palik Thomson will give everybody-professionals and the beginners—the chance to win on the first of the tournament because there will be a double Peoria format.

The 12 golfers will lowest gross will advance to play on Sunday for the championship round.

There will also be two hole-in-one and each winner will get $2,500.

Fifty prices will also be given away to the other winners.

Thomson said Blue Tee is probably the most challenging golf tournament as it goes in largest round in terms of yardage.

The Blue Tee Challenged is sponsored by Tagaki Insurance.

Show time will be 11 a.m., and tee off time will be 12 noon.

Entry forms can be picked up at COP Pro Shop.

In related news, Senior PGA member and golf Hall of Famer  Larry  Nelson shared some of his techniques when he visited Saipan two weeks ago for a golf clinic.

Representatives from all CNMI golf association attended the clinic where Nelson just watched the participants at the tee box and commented on swings and grips.

There were 24 people who showed up. There were representatives from Refaluwasch Golf Association, Saipan Golf Assocation, Korean Golf Association, Philippine-Saipan Golf Association, Exclusive Golf Association and Amigos Golf Assocations.
