Chief prosecutor Kevin Lynch filed 10 counts of misuse of credit card against 46-year-old Josepha Harris of Sadog Tasi, Saipan for using the credit card of another person and making purchases worth over $500 in May 2008.
According to the information filed in court by the AGO, Harris used the credit card of another person from May 4 to 7, 2008 to make purchases at different stores on Saipan.
The information stated that on May 4, Harris used the credit card to pay $60 to Dollar Rent a Car and make three separate purchases at New Happy Market worth $180.60. On May 7, Harris made four separate transactions with 99 Cents Supermarket amounting to $363.01.
The AGO also filed a complaint against 41-year-old Yongping Xuan of Dandan for taking some merchandise from Duty Free Shoppers in Garapan on Jan. 3, 2008. The merchandise Xuan took was worth $988, the AGO stated.
Charged with criminal mischief is 30-year-old Kehdes Paulino of Chalan Piao. The AGO said Paulino damaged the glass doors of Parliament Bar owned by Chang Ryel Kim on Feb. 20, 2008.
The court ordered that in the event that the defendants cannot afford to hire a lawyer, they can avail of the services of an appointed lawyer through the Office of Probation.
The three defendants are ordered to appear in court at 9 a.m. on Aug. 11.
The court said that if the defendants fail to show up, an application may be made for the issuance of a warrant of arrest.
