The last time I checked, Bruce Bateman has no heritage reflecting the Mariana islands. But because he is living there, he seemingly believes he possesses the profound right to put down any offshore Chamorro via the media who has a genuine interest in, not so much the politics, but the health and welfare of the people who reside there. Furthermore, does Bateman possess powers to know what the intentions and motivations of people off island are? How would he know what exactly my stake is in the CNMI?
What I find very interesting is even that after submitting numerous letters and articles to the media in the CNMI, Bruce Bateman still cannot get it right with my name and where I reside. But what can you expect from someone who appears to enjoy being unprofessional with his mode of written expression, and believes that what he is producing and submitting to the media is of high quality journalism.
The title of the paragraph “Wetback Labor” in Bateman’s recent submittal to the media reflects a mentality that would not sit very well with the numerous Hispanic farm workers who happen to reside in the community where I have my home.
I can proclaim with assurance that none of the letters and articles I have submitted to the media in the CNMI have ever alluded to any racism precisely because I am not a racist.
