On Wednesday, Taiwan Ambassador Matthew Lee presented the scholarship award to Uroy Salii, Gregory Meyar, Jay Lincoln, Danica Elechang and Timothy Udui.Gloria “Bilung” Salii received the scholarship in behalf of her daughter Uroy, while Lincoln’s wife Frances accepted the grant for her husband,The five scholars will fly to Taiwan to begin their chosen studies. The five recipients bested the other applicants.The Taiwan embassy shouldered their airfare and will provide them $1,000 a month to cover their education and a place where they can stay during the duration of the scholarship.Lee said that Palau National Scholarship Board (PNSB) screened the applicants and the Taiwan embassy approved the selected students.Lee said the chosen students will serve as ambassador of Palau to Taiwan.
