The Kayangel State open division team witnessed its elder team – K-Angels masters – lose to Ngiwal’s Kiuluul masters. Kiuluul played with K-Angels masters. Kiuluul won easily with a score of 13 to 7.K-Angels (open) decided to even the score with Ngiwal as it sent its best hitters to the plate and its best defensive players to the field during a battle with ChelidWith. Both teams were evenly matched such that at the closing of the 7th and final inning the game was tied at 11 to 11.At the top of the 8th inning – a first in ECSL history – members of the K-Angels stretched their wings. “OBK” of the K-Angels sported a halo above his head and helped the K-Angels score 4 runs. Chelidwith aggressively fought back but fell short of 2 runs. K-Angels won with a score of 15 to ChelidWith’s 13.In other games, the Melekeok Salty Boys (open) and the Ngaraard N-5 Reds could have sponsored a homerun derby. Dallas Oketol sent two balls out of the park, one of which was a grand slam, and scored 7 runs for his team. Caleb Meltel of the N-5 Reds also sent two balls out of the park for a total of earning his team 5 runs. Other members of both teams also drove balls out of the ball field – some resulting in controversial calls by the bases umpires. The calls did not stop the Salty Boys from defeating the N-Reds 20 to 17.The Ngaraard Redmen (masters) sent the Salty Boys home early in the final game of the day – by way of a 10-run ruling. The Redmen did the swinging and running and the Salty Boys the fumbling and careless throws. The umpires called the game when the Salty Boys failed to answer to 11 unanswered runs. The Redmen won with a score of 16 to the Salty Boys 5.
