Another presidential debate tonight

According to the PCOC press statement, the presidential debate focuses on economic priorities for the business community.“This debate is an opportunity for the four Presidential hopefuls to not only present their ideas and platforms, but to also outline strategies and solutions for the Republic of Palau’s economic development,” the statement said.The Palau Bar Association and the PCOC said that they have spent more than six months researching and analyzing different views in the community in developing questions.The two associations gave the candidates questions in advance.Some of the questions will delve on the country’s deficit and government spending.The debate will start at 6:30 p.m. and each of the presidential candidates will have three minutes each to answer one question and one minute for rebuttal.According to the debate rules: moderators will be allowed to interrupt a candidate if and when they feel it necessary; candidates cannot ask each other direct questions, but can ask rhetorical questions.The event is scheduled to be held at the Ngarachamayong Cultural Center from 6:30pm to 9:00 pm.
