A 34-year-old man was injured in a pedestrian crash on Middle Road in Chalan Laulau on Monday evening.
According to the Department of Public Safety, the man, a Dandan resident, was arguing with his girlfriend in the XO Market parking lot when she left. The man then crossed the street and was struck by a northbound car.
DPS 911 dispatch received a call about the incident at 8:48 p.m.
The man was taken by responding medics to the Commonwealth Health Center for treatment of abrasions. He was determined to be under the influence of alcohol, DPS Public Information Officer Sgt. Fred Sato said.
The driver of the car, a 53-year-old resident of Chalan Kanoa, was not injured. He remained at the scene and cooperated with police.
The crash is still under investigation.
