THE 9 Eleven Vipers claimed the Thursday “B” Flame Tree Division Bud Light Cup after nearly silencing the 9 Eleven Twisted Tribe, 8-2, Thursday at the 9 Eleven Restobar.
The Vipers swiftly built momentum thanks to their team chemistry as Manny Degracia and Jarvin “Stinger” Mendiola, along with Juliano “Show Me” Matsutaro and John Sablan, swept the opening Partners 501 game for a 2-0 lead.
Even as individual players, the Vipers’ sting was too much for the Twisted Tribe as Tanner Maratita and Henry “Savage” Sablan joined Degracia and Matsutaro to collect four consecutive wins in the Singles Crazy Cricket game to notch six wins in the race to eight.
The Twisted Tribe’s Russ Cruz and Skem Kaipat worked together to finally get out of the gutter but Steve “RoadKill” and Coby Santos failed to keep the fuel burning as they lost to Maratita and Mendiola to split the Partners 701 Open In/Double Out game.
Cruz tried to keep the Twisted Tribe alive with a solo win in the opening round of the Singles Half-It, but John Sablan acted as the dagger, defeating Coby Santos to bag the eighth and final win that the Vipers’ needed to secure the win and the Bud Light Cup.
