Department of Commerce Secretary Michael Ada said the response from the business community has been good, as indicated by the full reservations they got for the 60 available slots.
“The one-on-one sessions are still available but they’re also going pretty fast,” Ada said.
He added that individuals who were unable to register for the workshop can still go to the workshop venue today between 1 and 4 p.m. or call the Department of Commerce office for scheduling of the sessions.
“We will be hosting follow-up sessions after the workshop today but we will have to work closely with the Small Business Administration on their availability,” Ada said.
Registrants for today’s first ever workshop of its kind in the CNMI are various companies which they hope will benefit especially with the forthcoming military buildup on Guam.
“The Department of Commerce and the Commonwealth Development Authority believe that preparation for the regional buildup is essential to capitalizing on the influx of money that will be coming into the region,” Ada said.
He added that the SBA is the key partner in helping the local business community to engage in the needed preparations.
