Pacific Telecommunications Inc. and Department of Community and Cultural Affairs fight it out like there was no tomorrow, but eventually the sun sets over DCCA, 97-78.
Thanks to PTI’s juggernaut, Kelvin Fitial who provided a strong defense and offense for the telecommunications firm.
Fitial proved his worth by scoring 25 points total, making it hard for the government agency to recover from its deficit.
Fitial even showed his immense presence under the basket in terms of rebound and driving the ball inside DCCA’s painted area.
The PTI cager made a three-point connection in the second quarter of play, and he followed this through with three more attempts that all went successful.
By the final minutes of the game, Fitial fashioned his fourth three-point shot, even though his team was already ahead in the scoreboard.
He opened the fourth quarter with a rainbow shot from behind the arc, allowing PTI to score 76 points in the period.
At that juncture, DCCA had 75 points in its pocket.
But after a three-point shot by its female cager, Connie Camacho, DCCA was no longer able to register any shot.
However, it was a different situation with PTI – the team continued its barrage of shots, breaking the DCCA defense, almost unopposed.
PTI’s Ryan Sanciangco is also instrumental in bringing the needed points. Early in the game, Sanciangco made several fastbreaks for his team, positioning himself down the court, anticipating a pass.
Sanciangco scored a total of 23 shots – the second highest point for PTI.
The guard/forward crafted a good performance early in the game, demonstrating skill and agility.
The match ended when PTI reached 97 points by Junior Fernandez who made three shots in the entire game.
Currently, PTI waves a 2-0 win-lose card, while DCCA holds a 1-1 ticket.
PTI will pit against Northern Marianas College – another formidable team in the league to watch out for.
