Letter to the Editor: Good news

I’ve read some letters to the editor opposing the idea. But how can we know if we don’t give it a try? Change is good you know. Most of these writers are old-timers. They know too much about our islands and the waters that surround them. It’s our time now. Our generation wants this monument!

I plan to major in marine biology and study our islands and waters, but I can’t do it on my own. I need young indigenous people to help me on this. I honestly feel it’s the young generation’s turn now. We, the young indigenous, want a chance to learn about our islands. I want to see it, study it, smell the air around it, feel the waters that surround it, and enjoy the beauty of our islands and waters. I’m sure a lot of young indigenous feel the same way.

Hey you parents! We are just getting started. Give our generation a chance. Change is good. Let’s all work together to support our marine monument!
