OPA now carries a 1-9 win-lose card, while DOC holds a 7-3 win-lose ticket in the games. Both teams still have one match each to play.
Under the league, all 11 member-teams are allowed a total of 11 games in the season.
DOC showed OPA the way out of the Gilbert C. Ada Gymnasium when it piled up 20 points over the government auditing agency.
Banking on strong offense inside the painted area, DOC’s Jeffrey Quitugua was able to score 21 points, followed by Luis Iguel and Gregorio Blas who made 20 and 19 points, respectively.
During the first quarter, OPA was leading by four points, but it failed to maintain its composure in the succeeding episodes with several missed shots.
OPA scored 20 points on the board against DOC’s 16 shots during the first quarter.
But the second quarter was a different story: OPA connected to the basket 14 times only, while DOC rebounded with 27 points.
It went on from there for DOC as added 24 points to its last score in the previous quarter.
OPA tried to catch up, but it could only muster 15 points in the period with no time left.
OPA’s deficit reached a wide margin from DOC’s as minutes ticked.
DOC is now on the 4th in the team standing for the Inter-government/Business League.
