Brad Ruszala, event proponent and organizer, reminds everyone that the half-marathon part of the race will begin at 6 a.m., while the fun run will start at 7 a.m.
The off-road half-marathon and fun run has an entrance fee of $10.
Ruszala said large private companies have expressed their support for the sports event including Coca-cola, POWERade, Subway, Pacific Telecommunications Inc., Pacific Islands Club, Michelob Ultra, All-star Sports, JG Sablan Ice & Water, and several others.
“Eventually, I would like to see this blossom into one of the CNMI’s signature events…” Ruszala said, adding that since he started the event in 2006, “we’ve been able to rely strictly on-in-kind donations from area businesses.”
Ruszala also mentioned that as the sports event has attracted many sponsors this year, many more companies are still signifying interest to support the annual activity.
The sponsors, he mentioned, will offer certificates, Sunday brunch, athletic style water bottles, race gears, music CDs, clothing apparels, and other items for the winners.
“In keeping with the tradition, all proceeds from each race will be donated to the local athletic community,” Ruszala said.
The Saipan Swim Club and Northern Marianas Athletics were the two recipients of the marathon and fun run in the past two years.
