Vice President Elias Camsek Chin gave Grant, Chief Petty Officer and marine technical adviser, a plaque of appreciation on Friday for doing a good job in helping the country enforce its patrol boat program.
Chin, being the Secretary of the Ministry of Justice also handed Grant a retired flag of the Republic of Palau.Chin commended Grant for serving the community of Palau for two years and for helping the patrol boat programs and the training.Grant is leaving with his family and will be back to Australia on Friday.Chin said Palau would miss Grant and his professionalism.Chin said the seizure of the Taiwan fishing vessel believed to have been hijacked by its crew was the result of good works of Grant and Maritime Surveillance Adviser for Palau Lt. Commander Kimbal Dunsmore.Dunsmore and Grant’s wife and two children were present at the ceremony.Bureau of Public Safety’s Acting Director Xavier Ngirameong and Chief of Correction Julio Ringang were also present and were among those officials from the Ministry of Justice who bids goodbye to Grant.Grant worked closely with PSS Remeliikj for two years.
