Joe Ada pulls a win for Sixers over Saints

Sixers brought down Saints from their pedestal, 63-56, perhaps sending the latter team praying not to lose momentum in the playoff series of the Saipan Rotary Club Youth Basketball League at the Gilbert C. Ada Gymnasium.

Saints got stuck in the second quarter with 56 points in their pocket.

Sixers pressed on Saints to the limit, leaving no room for the Chalan Kanoa players to soar in the scoreboard.

Ada fired in the remaining minutes of the period, putting in a two-point lead for Sixers.

The score said: 58-56.

Then Ernest Duenas backed him up with another two points, allowing Sixers to pull away with four points.

The match ended with Sixers’ Ian Benavente connecting to the basket twice behind the free throw line after a foul was committed on the floor.

Sixers are on the top two in the league’s team standing with seven wins and one loss.

They will see action in Ada Gym tomorrow, Thursday, at 5:30 p.m.
