Mantas sting Ayuyu in JV boys’ basketball

Mantas beat Ayuyus, 62-59, amidst steals, fastbreaks, and breakneck defense.

Mantas’ Adrian Palacios and Tristan Ecalnea showed their worth in the hardcourt, positioning low in the basket to connect for points.

Palacios and Ecalnea scored an identical scores of 17 points in the entire game via their respective lay-ups and two-point jumpers.

The first period of the game saw Mantas trailing behind Ayuyus by one point.

By the second quarter the situation got reversed, where Mantas made headway by two points over Ayuyus.

As both teams did not slow down to fire some shots they saw themselves tied several times in the game.

Ecalnea pressed hard on his offense inside the zone with the help of fellow Mantas who provided the needed assists and good ball passes near the basket.

Eventually, Ayuyus scurried for points to advance in the scoreboard as Mantas stepped up on their offensive stance a couple of points with the final minutes ticking.

Ayuyu failed to connect to the basket in the final seconds until the buzzer rang with Mantas holding on to a three-point lead.
