Fitial, on behalf of the First Lady Foundation, handed the check to the officers of Ayuda Network in the conference room of the governor’s office at 10:30 a.m., yesterday.
In support of the Breast Cancer Awareness Month activities, the $500 will be given as prizes to the top three schools that will have the highest number of participants during today’s Pink Ribbon Candle Light Vigil Parade.
The Commonwealth Cancer Association also donated $200 to Ayuda.
Fitial is a cancer survivor who had undergone breast operation.
Aside from cash donation, she participates in other activities of local cancer awareness advocates.
Last Saturday, she participated in the Commonwealth Cancer Association celebrity bagging event at Joeten Supermarket where she helped shoppers bag their groceries.
The registration for today’s parade will start at 4 p.m. at the Oleai Beach pavilion.
