On 17th of October, Friday, there will be the Inter Scholastic League (ISL) swim meet at the pool located at Meyuns. The competition will showcase a 25meter long race for students of different high schools in Palau. Registration starts at 3:30 p.m. as the games starts at exactly 4:00 p.m.
Next day, Saturday, 18th of October will be a clean up day. Tova, a long time active member of PSA, from Fish n Fins is spearheading a clean-up of the Ngerkebesang, Meyuns as part of the dengue eradication effort. Carp, PPR, and Fish n Fins employees will be walking and picking up trash while others riding kayaks collecting debris.Volunteers are urged to come and help as all interested individuals will be meeting at the pool, 8:30 in the morning. Groups will be formed to start heading out from there to walk, pick, and back to the pool.And as for the last Saturday of the month 26th of October, PSA will be having a “Swim-a-thon” Fundraising. Swimmers collect pledges from the public per each lap as they swim between 4-6 p.m. at the pool. Money raised will be used to help fund swimmers that are going to attend the Guam Invitational Meet on December 27 & 28 of this year and Pan Pacific Meet on January of 2009, both in Guam. PSA is inviting the public to support the young swimmers by pledging and cheering them as they swim non-stop laps in a 2-hour period.
