Eric G. Holthusen, Shell Global Solutions fuels technology manager for Asia/Pacific and Middle East, said Shell V-Power premium gasoline is an innovative solution to keep engine clean and maximize your vehicle’s full performance.
In a presentation yesterday, Holthusen said V-Power is the result of a three-year long lab research.
This type of fuel contains more than five times the amount of cleaning agents required by the U.S. federal government.
The German-fuel scientist based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia said over time, low detergent gasolines leave deposits that can negatively affect the performance of a vehicle.
Shell V-Power’s cleaning agents can remove those deposits, enhancing the engine’s performance.
“Shell V-Power is designed for enhanced engine responsiveness and helps remove and prevent future deposits on intake valves and fuel injectors,” said Holthusen who visited Saipan for the first time to educate the community about the special fuel.
With regular use, Holthusen said Shell V-Power can prevent carbon deposits from building up.
The U.S. has been using Shell V-Power since 2004.
Shell V-Power is the same technologically-advanced fuel that earned Formula One’s cars the most number of winnings in recent years.
The two marks their 60th anniversary of partnership this year.
Holthusen said Shell allocates more than $100 million a year to develop new fuel formula and alternative fuels.
His office, which is in-charge of exploring alternative fuels, is working on different new more environmentally fuel formulas that could potentially be marketed in a few years.
