Three men plead not guilty to assault, battery charges

Daisuke Yanai was arraigned for assault and battery and disturbing the peace. He appeared in court with his counsel, Assistant Public Defender Richard C. Miller while Assistant Attorney General Jeffery Warfield represented the government.  

Yanai waived both the reading of information and his constitutional rights and Presiding Judge Robert C. Naraja set the status conference for Nov. 12 at 9 a.m.

Chief Prosecutor Kevin A. Lynch of the Attorney General’s Office filed the charges against Yanai for beating and punching his wife on March 26, 2007.

Raymond DLC. Cabrera of Chalan Piao also entered a not guilty plea to similar charges. He appeared in court with his counsel Vincent Torres for  arraignment.

Naraja set the status conference for Nov. 17 at 1:30 p.m.

The AGO charged Cabrera with hitting and causing bodily harm to a member of his household on March 7, 2007. He was also charged with disturbing the peace.

Huiliang Gao also entered a not guilty plea to three counts of assault and battery, and one count for disturbing the peace during his arraignment.

The court set the status conference for Gao’s case on Oct. 22 at 9 a.m.

Gao was charged with kicking the upper leg of a woman  on July 11, 2007. He was charged separately for hitting the victim’s back, and another count for punching her head several times.
