‘Embrace Equity’

On March 8, 2023, Gov. Arnold I. Palacios, Lt. Gov. David M. Apatang, and first lady Wella S. Palacios joined representatives from the Commonwealth Women’s Association and the CNMI Women’s Affairs Office, other officials and community members to raise awareness and recognition of International Women’s Day through a roadside waving activity at the Garapan Fishing Base. This year’s International Women’s Day theme was “Embrace Equity,” and as part of CNMI Women’s Month, Governor Palacios and Lt. Governor Apatang encouraged the community “to continue to promote gender equality and recognize the contributions of women not just in the CNMI, but also around the world.”
