TOP-SEED June Yu beat Nason Wessel in their 16-and-under boys singles match in the 2023 NMI Crowne Plaza Junior Tennis Championships on Sunday.
Yu prevailed in the first set, 7-6, before dominating Wessel in the final set, 6-1, to secure the win.
Jihun Park triumphed in the 14-and-under boys singles over Eamon Tang, 6-2, 6-1 while top-seed Lina Tsukagoshi beat Stella Choi, 6-2, 6-4 in the 14-and-under girls singles.
Also in the girls singles, top-ranked Hoo Wang dominated Savita Sikkel, 6-1, 6-3 to lead the 16-and-under division.
For his part, Jinho Cody Park, the No. 1 in the boys 12-and-under, defeated Matt Zhu in the singles, 6-1, 6-3.
