Bill to appropriate $800K in amusement machine license fee collections

REPRESENTATIVE Blas Jonathan Attao on Friday introduced House Local Bill 23-1 to appropriate $800,000 in amusement machine license fee collections for the Saipan and Northern Islands mayors’ offices as well as programs and projects in the Third Senatorial District.

The local bill appropriates the funds as follows:

• $150,000 for the Saipan mayor’s office personnel and operations;

• $50,000 for the Northern Islands mayor’s office;

• $260,000 for the Saipan and Northern Islands Legislative Delegation’s operations;

• $60,000 for the Saipan and Northern Islands Municipal Council;

• $30,000 for the Board of Parole’s Saipan office;

• $50,000 for Obyan Beach road improvement;

• $50,000 for flood control in Precinct 2;

• $50,000 for the mitigation of flooding and road repair on Flores Rosa St. and surrounding areas in Precinct 3;

• $50,000 for paving and construction of Egigi Drive on Capital Hill; and

• $50,000 for the repair of access way on Kagman Road and Chopak Drive in Precinct 5.

H.L.B. 23-1 states that the funds “shall not be reprogrammed for any other purpose, and shall be without fiscal year limitation.”
