SAIPAN Southern High School finished first in the long distance events of the PSS Interscholastic Outrigger Race series at Kilili Beach on Saturday.
In the girls division, SSHS powered through the six-mile race to claim first place with a time of 01:02:11.700 and earn five points.
In second place was Marianas High School which completed the course with a time of 01:03:22.230 for three points while Kagman High School settled for third place with a time of 01:09:54.860 for one point.
In the overall standings of the girls division, MHS is still number one thanks to their first week performance with a total of 21 points. SSHS is second with 19 points and KHS is third with 5.
In the boys division, SSHS’ first-place finish in the long distance race solidified its overall top ranking.
The SSHS boys excelled with a finish time of 00:54:16.460 to garner five points while KHS came in second at 00:57:06.010 for three points. MHS was third with a time of 00:58:03.000 for one point.
In the boys division, SSHS stands tall with a total of 25 points while MHS is in second place with 13 points and KHS is in third with 7.
