Judge finds probable cause to charge man in sexual abuse of a minor case

SUPERIOR Court Associate Judge Joseph N. Camacho found probable cause to believe that the crimes of sexual abuse of a minor in the third degree, assault and battery, and disturbing the peace were committed by Carlo D. Enriquez.

“The defendant is therefore held to answer said charges,” Judge Camacho added.

At the preliminary hearing on Jan. 18, 2023, the court heard testimony from Detective Timmy S. Pangelinan.

Enriquez, for his part, appeared in the custody of the Department of Corrections and was represented by his court-appointed counsel, Assistant Public Defender Emily Thomsen. An interpreter, Auralou Sabangan, was also provided for the defendant.

The government was represented by Assistant Attorney General Frances T. Demapan.

Judge Camacho ordered Enriquez to return to court for an arraignment set for Jan. 30, 2023, at 9 a.m. before Presiding Judge Roberto C. Naraja.

Enriquez, 53, was accused of kissing and inappropriately touching a 13-year-old minor girl on Dec. 23, 2022.
