THE Nutrition Assistance Program under the Department of Community and Cultural Affairs has increased maximum allotments, income eligibility standards, and resources limits across the CNMI, effective Tuesday, Nov. 1.
The resources limit for households will increase from $2,250 to $2,750.
In households where at least one person is 55 years old or older, or is disabled, the resource limit will increase from $3,500 to $4,250.
On Saipan, the increases in maximum monthly benefits will be $415 for a one-member household, $761 for a two-member household, $1,090, for three; $1,385, for four; $1,644 for five; $1,973 for six; $2,181 for seven; and $2,493 for an eight-member household. Each additional member will add $312 in benefits.
As for Tinian, a one-member household receiving maximum benefits will see $439 monthly, $804 for a two-member household, $1,152 for three; $1,464 for four; $1,736 for five; $2,084 for six; $2,304 for seven; and $2,634 for an eight-member household. Each additional member will add $330 in benefits.
Rota and the Northern Islands have the same benefit levels, with $505 for a one-member household, $925 for a two-member household, $1,326 for three; $1,685 for four; $2,000 for five; $2,400 for six; $2,652 for seven; and $3,032 for an eight-member household. Each additional member will add $380 in benefits.
On all islands, income eligibility standards and resources limits are applied, utilizing the same standards for eligibility determination.
Maximum income guidelines are now $1,473 for one-member households; $1,984 for two; $2,495 for three; $3,007 for four; $3,518 for five; $4,029 for six; $4,541 for seven; and $5,052 for eight-member households. Each additional member adds $512 in income eligibility standards.
