Queens of Diamonds, Hot Shots notch wins

THE Queens of Diamonds and Hot Shots blew past their opponents in the women’s division of the 2022 Budweiser Belau Amateur Softball League Sunday at the Dandan baseball field.

Against the 670 Babes, the Queens were triumphant, 9-4.

But it was the Babes who drew first blood thanks to Pauline Camacho’s sacrifice play that brought in Atalig. Team mate Lizann Deleon Guerrero followed suit with another pop up to let Shenika Cabrera slip home. The Babes then scored one more run off an error to lead 3-0.

In the second inning, however, the Queens of Diamonds went on a scoring spree. The bases were quickly filled with Destiny Pangelinan, Kiana Aldan and Kiana Camacho earning two RBIs each for six runs total as their team seized the lead, 6-3.

The Queens maintained control throughout the rest of the game while the Babes could score one run only in the bottom of the fifth.

The Queens bagged three runs in the subsequent innings to seal the deal, 9-4.

As for the Hot Shots, they dominated the Tokahao Ladies, 17-7.
