HYUN Son Sunny topped the CNMI Women’s Golf Association tournament for the second consecutive month after shooting a net score of 71 in their October event Saturday at Laolao Bay Golf & Resort East Course.
Sunny shot a gross of 38 on the front nine which put her way ahead of the competition.
Despite struggling in the transition to the back nine with a gross of 45, her total gross score of 83 and 12 handicap gave her a net score of 71 — and the October title.
In second place was Yuko Togawa who scored a gross of 38 on the front nine and 41 on the back nine for a gross total of 79. With a 4 handicap, her net score was 75.
Sherlyn Jones also shot a net score of 75 but was bested by Togawa in the score card playoff.
Jones held a steady pace with a gross of 46 on the front nine and 40 on the back nine for a total gross of 86. With a handicap of 11, she ended in third place with a net score of 75.
The next CWGA tournament will be held on Nov. 11 at Coral Ocean Resort.
