THE Saipan Maga’Haga Lady Eagles Group or SMHLEG celebrated its 1st anniversary on Oct. 22 in the Tapochau Room of Saipan World Resort. SMHLEG is a chartered group of Saipan Magalahi Eagles Club under the umbrella of The Fraternal Orders of Eagle or TFOE.
The anniversary celebration was dubbed “A Year’s Journey” and attended by SMHLEG members, the families as well as some of the Magalahi Eagles Club members.
Lady Eagles Yolanda De Ramos and Racquel Floyd hosted the event.
The program opened with a video presentation that featured the successful activities and projects that the group accomplished for the year 2022 through the leadership of SMHLEG President Lady Eagle Angelica Lastimado.
Gov. Ralph DLG Torres delivered a touching pre-recorded inspirational message on video which was followed by a special message from SMHLEG President Lady Eagle Angelica Lastimado.
After the delivery of her message, she was surprised to learn that she was the recipient of a plaque of appreciation from Saipan Magalahi President Eagle Marlon Regaton. A TFOE Governor’s Pin from the Eagles Club District Governor was also awarded to Lady Eagle Angel through Eagles Club District Secretary Eagle Jun Lapeceros.
“That’s What Friends are For” was sang by the members after they received their certificates of appreciation. The heartwarming tune is considered the group’s theme song and signifies the solidarity of their sisterhood. The members also performed two dance numbers as part of the night’s entertainment.
The 2022 Lady Eagle of the Year Award was the highlight of the anniversary celebration. The members voted before the commencement of the program and this year’s recipient was Lady Eagle Racquel Huit Floyd.
A dance party with the Baraha Band concluded the SMHLEG program.
