FOR his work at the Guam Medical Examiner’s Office, Saipan pathologist Dr. Philip Dauterman has received a certificate of recognition from Guam Attorney General Leevin Camacho.

“In the absence of a chief medical examiner over the last three years, you have shouldered substantial responsibilities at the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner and have provided unwavering support to the Commission on Post-Mortem Examinations,” the certificate stated.
It was signed by Camacho as Guam AG and chairman of the Commission on Post-Mortem.
Dauterman, a full-time medical practitioner at the Commonwealth Healthcare Corporation, said, “The work I was doing at the Guam Medical Examiner’s Office was on weekends while they looked for a replacement.”
Guam’s previous chief medical examiner and forensic pathologist, Dr. Aurelio Espinola, retired on Jan. 31, 2019.
