PRIOR to Marilyn Cruz’s first title win in the masters division of the 2022 International Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation World Master JiuJitsu Championship, she saw action in a Fight 2 Win super fight.
A Kagman High School alumna, Cruz said it was a submission-only match and her opponent is an IBJJF champion.
“It was an intense fight as my opponent was very fast paced, forward moving and aggressive,” Cruz said.
She held up with her guard defense and when her opponent slowed down, Cruz attacked the legs and performed a straight ankle lock submission.
“I got the tap and secured my first Fight 2 Win submission,” Cruz added.
