(NMC) — Alyssa Attao of Northern Marianas College’s Cooperative Research, Extension, and Education Services will serve as the CNMI’s 4-H Positive Youth Development Champion at the regional level.

Attao will collaborate with a network of professionals across the nation to strengthen capacity among 4-H staff and volunteers, with a particular focus on onboarding new team members. Her selection was confirmed by Jenny Murray of West Virginia University, a 4-H PYD Champion Network Facilitator.

Attao’s acceptance was a testament to her “thoughtful and energizing application,” highlighting her unwavering dedication to advancing the 4-H Thriving Model and empowering youth development.

Attao has been a longtime community servant through NMC-CREES’ Family, Community, and Youth Development’s 4-H Marianas program, a U.S.-based youth development organization that empowers youth with the skills to lead positive lives and make meaningful contributions to their communities.

Beyond her work with 4-H, she has also served as a mentor for the Teacher Academy Program and volunteered with the Toys for Tots initiative, among many other efforts that reflect her ongoing dedication to service and youth development.

“We celebrate Alyssa’s achievement and look forward to the incredible ways she will continue to uplift youth and strengthen our community through this new role.”
