THE Department of Public Safety-Drug Enforcement Task Force conducted two “buy-walk” operations in May 2022 with the help of a cooperating informer who identified Jawn A. Joyner as actively selling methamphetamine.
According to DETF agents, Joyner on two occasions sold methamphetamine worth $250 to an informer.
At a bail hearing on July 18, 2022, Superior Court Associate Judge Teresa Kim-Tenorio imposed a $25,000 cash bail on Joyner.
Joyner was represented by Assistant Public Defender Tyler Scott while Chief Prosecutor Chester Hinds appeared for the government.
After the hearing, Joyner was remanded to the custody of the Department of Corrections.
He is scheduled to return to court for an arraignment on Aug. 1, 2022, at 9 a.m.
