That is why DPS will be out in full force looking for and cracking down on impaired drivers this holiday season.
Because the holiday season between Thanksgiving and New Year’s Day is one of the deadliest and most dangerous times on our roadways due to impaired driving, DPS will be conducting sobriety checkpoints, saturation patrols and using undercover officers to get more drunk drivers off the road.
Designating a sober driver and not letting friends drive drunk are just two of several simple steps to help avoid a tragic crash or an arrest for impaired driving.
DPS is asking for volunteers who are interested in being designated drivers to show up with a copy of their driver’s license at DPS Central.
Please meet with Police Officer John Cabrera.
On Wednesday, Nov. 26, there will be a proclamation signing at DPS Central scheduled for 11 a.m.
