Dela Cruz said he will participate in the Pacific Regional Influenza Pandemic Preparedness Plan Conference that will be held in Nadi, Fiji for one week.
The meeting, he said, will come up with pandemic preparedness plan for each Pacific jurisdiction.
The plan, he added, will pave the way for the Pacific islands to obtain personnel protective equipment, vaccines and anti-viral medicines.
Funded by Australia and New Zealand, the conference will also tackle animal health issue, Dela Cruz said.
In December, he added, a shipment of a special type of suits, masks and laboratory supplies from the Secretariat of the Pacific Community will arrive on Saipan.
The equipment will be used by the Department of Public Health and DLNR.
