The training is set for Wednesday, Nov. 12, from 8 a.m. to 12 noon at the Aqua Resort Club. 

The training will be on sampling procedures for total coliform samples.  There will be short presentations about DEQ’s new computer-based water operator testing.   This training is intended for currently certified water operators.

OSHA’s Deleon Guerrero to speak at SHRM meeting

(SHRM) — Rey C. Deleon Guerrero, project manager for the CNMI Occupational Safety and Health Administration Office, will be presenting vital information on how businesses in the CNMI can improve on OSHA compliance standards during the Society for Human Resource Management meeting at Charley’s Cabaret, Pacific Islands Club, Thursday, Nov. 13.

Doors open at 11:15 a.m. for registration.  Cost for members is $15 and $20 for non-SHRM members. government purchase orders are accepted.  The cost includes lunch.  Reservations are requested.

Russian tourists win Club 200 prize

(ARC) — Vladimir and Elena Bogomazov from Sakhalin Island in Russia recently purchased tickets to the American Red Cross fundraising dinner at the Hyatt Hotel in Saipan.

In addition to the dinner and entertainment they were lucky winners of the 38th prize which included a GSM cellular phone from PTI, a power inverter and a room night stay at Century Hotel.

“We are pleased that one of our island guests has supported the Red Cross and also won a raffle prize” said John Hirsh, executive director of the NMI chapter.
