The 800 absentee ballots requested via mail will be tabulated on Nov. 11.
Toribiong’s rival, Vice President Elias Camsek Chin and running mate Sen. Alan Seid, narrowed the gap after the absentee ballots from Saipan were counted.
Toribiong-Mariur received a total of 4,113 votes so far while Chin-Seid garnered 3, 914.
Chin got 250 votes from Saipan while Toribiong received 185.
On Thursday morning, results from Koror, Airai and the rest of the states gave Toribiong a 264-vote lead.
In the race for 13 Senate seats, write-in candidate Surangel Whipps Jr. continued to be the top vote-getter, but President Tommy Remengesau had moved to 11th place from the number 16 spot.
The other Senate candidates who made it to the top 13 yesterday were attorney Raynold Oilouch, Sen. Mlib Tmetuchl, Delegate Joel Toribiong, businessman Mark Rudimch, community activist Kathy Kesolei, Director of Koror State Department of Conservation and Law Enforcement Adalbert Eledui, educator Regina Mesebeluu, Sen. Alfonso Diaz former cabinet minister Regis Akitaya, former state legislator Paul Ueki and former Ngaremlengui Gov. John Skebong.
