The Brothers had defeated the defending champion the first time they met but failed in their second encounter.
Evenflow won the first set 15 to 12 but the Brothers bounced back in the second, 15 to 14 and third, 14 to 5 stretching the lead to seven points.
Set to clinch the “juice-out” win, the Brothers geared for the final set of the regulation play.
But Evenflow even exceeded the needed eight-point margin as they won the fourth set 17 to 18 with a nine-point advantage to hand the Brothers their second loss of the year. The Brothers had earlier defeated Naturals in the overtime game and juiced out the Islanders in an easy 63 to 39 win.
Evenflow however, did not seem to have enough in reserve to beat the reconstituted No-Mercy. Later that day, Evenflow won the first set 16 to 11 but No-Mercy juiced them out with a 59 to 47 victory, winning three sets, 17 to 12; 16 to 7 and 15 to 12.
Meanwhile, Fanians who were still nursing their first loss to Brothers during the previous game finished the game by defeating Okies on the overtime set.
Earlier, Fanians improved their record as they defeated Okies in the first three sets, 15 to 8; 16 to 15 and 16 to 10. However, they failed to close out that game by losing the fourth set to Okies, 16 ro12.
Under Rocball rules of quarter system, a team cannot win in a losing set. So, even though the Fanians outscored Okies in the four sets 70 to 56, Okies forced it to overtime by warding off Fanians’ juice out attempt.
But scoring the most points Fanians needed to win one overtime set of 10 points Okies needed two OT sets. The Fanians won the first OT set to win the game.
The Okies also played the Soul Rebels who are on the verge of elimination after losing three times. But the Rebels survived by the narrowest margins as they came from behind in the fourth set to edge out the Okies 61 to 60 for a juice out win.
