November’s brand new vehicle sales included seven sedans, four trucks, one van and 10 sports utility vehicles.
Microl Corp. was still the top seller, with 11 units sold, for a 50 percent market share. Joeten Motors followed with eight units sold, representing a 36.36 percent market share, and Triple “J” Motors, which sold three, for a 13.64 percent market share.
Toyota remained number one in brand sales with 11 units sold. Nissan followed with six; Mazda, two; and one each of Ford, Kia and Hyundai.
Based on a month to month comparison, sales of brand new vehicles in November dropped by 38 percent from the 36 brand new units sold in October.
The year to date figures also posted a drop of 3.46 percent in the total number of brand new vehicles sold.
From January to November last year, the three car dealers sold 578 brand new units while this year’s sales for the same period showed only 558 units sold.
This year’s sales included 304 sedans, 56 trucks, 433 vans, 149 SUVs and six others.
Sales of used cars also dropped from 38 units sold in October to 28 in November.
Microl sold 10 used vehicles in November, claiming a 35.7 percent market share while Joeten Motors and Triple “J” Motors sold nine units each, representing a 32.1 percent of the market share each.
From January to November this year, Microl sold 130 used vehicles. Triple “J” Motors sold 114 while Joeten Motors sold 100.
A total of 344 used vehicles were sold for the first 11 months of the year.
Joeten Motors is the island’s distributor of Nissan, Ford, Honda and Kia. Microl sells Toyota and Chevrolet while Triple “J” Motors is the local dealer of Hyundai, Mitsubishi, Isuzu, Suzuki and Mazda.
