THE Democratic Party of the NMI is launching its own version of an annual state party gala to celebrate “important milestones” from the local party’s history and recent past.
The party’s chair, Jonathan P. Cabrera, is inviting all supporters to join the NMI Democrats at their “Blue Banquet” at the Pacific Islands Club on July 2, Saturday, from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.
“Democrats across the country normally host their annual state party gala as the social event of the year,” Cabrera said. “And while each state and territory calls its event something different, [the] NMI Democrats have named theirs the Blue Banquet as a reminder for voters to vote Blue in 2022. Vote Blue because Democrats deliver and will continue to deliver.”
Party vice chair Luella Marciano said, “This is not a black-tie event, but we are asking guests to get creative with our island formal glam dress code. This will be a night to shine, so come and join us for our very first Blue Banquet.”
“We welcome this opportunity to celebrate our incumbents and to honor Democratic leaders from our Commonwealth’s past,” said party secretary Melia Johnson.
Shawna Indalecio, the party treasurer, said she looks forward to celebrating with Democrats not only from Saipan but also from Tinian and Rota.
“Democrats from all over the CNMI will be here to have a good time and to demonstrate, once again, why the voters of the Commonwealth can vote for Trusted Leadership in 2022! Vote Blue in 2022!”
