Sir Allan has just completed serving a six-month jail sentence for the 2002 attack on Honiara law firm Sol Law. He was released from prison recently.
The speaker of Parliament, Sir Peter Kenilorea, said Sir Allan has vacated his seat.
“The fact that he has been sentenced for more than six months and having served the term, he ceases to be a member of parliament, so he is no longer a member of Parliament,” Sir Peter told Radio New Zealand International.
