Jackie Marati retires from Bank of Guam

HAGÅTÑA (BoG) — With the Bank of Guam since 1999, Jackie Marati first joined the Bank’s Corporate Banking Group.  Since then, she has held positions of Special Assistant to the President for Tony Leon Guerrero before heading the Bank’s Marketing,   Human  Resources,   Communications   and  Public   Relations areas. For  the  last  few  years,  Marati  has  overseen  the  Bank’s Communications and Corporate Social Responsibility efforts.  Fueled by her passion to give back to the island communities served by the Bank, she has led several international award-winning Bank of Guam projects: the Bank’s Year in Review, Annual Calendar and Founder’s Day of Giving.

Marati, an island daughter, is a graduate of the Academy of Our Lady of Guam (salutatorian)    and    received    her    bachelor’s    degree    from    Vassar College.   

Other   educational   accolades   include   numerous   executive leadership programs at  Dartmouth,  Stanford,  Wharton and Northwestern Universities, and the Pacific Coast Banking School. Marati served as the President of the Guam Bankers Association and is a founding board member of the Guam Women’s Chamber of Commerce. 

Marati also served as the Chief    Administrative    Officer    with    the    Guam    International    Airport Authority. She remains the only Accredited Airport Executive by the American Association of Airport Executives.

In addition to her role with the Bank and in line with her passion to serve, Marati currently sits on the boards of Guam Cancer Care, USO Advisory, UOG Center for Island Sustainability (chair), The Employers Council, and has previously served on the boards of the Make a Wish Foundation, Tourism Education Council, Pacific Islanders in Communications, St. Anthony and Academy of Our Lady.  She is the recipient of the Holy Cross Pro Ecclesia et Pontifice by Pope Benedict, Seven Seals Award by the ESGR and was inducted  as  a  Laureate  to  the  Academy  of  Our  Lady  of  Guam  Hall  of Fame.  She also was awarded Public Citizen of the Year by the National Association of Social Workers (Guam).
