5th grade classroom gets upgrade

AFCAT Officer-in-charge Capt. Chris Bulson said that the upgrade started last Dec. 15 and was completed before Christmas Day.

Bulson said that the classroom of teacher Veronica Masami was “badly damaged and missing in many places.”Bulson said that the floor is posing a tripping hazard to both Misami and her 14 students. He added that the old floor tiles are already peeling off that repairs are needed.CAT structural team TSgt Shane Merchant and SSgt John Kallen, along with their apprentices Roger Bacca, Ashley Ilemelong, and Joshua Ngirngebedangel, completely removed the old flooring and installed 600 square feet of ceramic tile and 100 feet of cove base. Bulson said that Brenda Alt, Peace Corps school teacher, identified the needed repairs to SMSgt Freddie Davis, CAT Assistant Officer-in-Charge, who was able to acquire the necessary materials to complete the upgrades at no cost to the school or community.
