According to Bedebii Chiokai, BMS Principal, the actual date of the anniversary of the school is January 12, which falls on a Monday this year. The school’s board and alumni had decided to commemorate the school’s anniversary this weekend to provide for an opportunity for alumni, students, members of Modekngei, and significant others to participate in the celebration without compromising their school and work schedules.
Chiokai further added that scheduled activities would begin this Saturday; however, the main anniversary celebration date is Sunday, January 11.She said that a softball tournament – elimination round – would commence on Saturday. The top winning teams will play for the champions’ title on Sunday.“A lot of teams have registered into the tournament,” Chiokai said. “Team registration has closed and a schedule of games is now being arranged to ensure that each registered team gets to play.”Chiokai said that there would also be other activities and lunch on Sunday would be provided – free of charge.The celebration of the school’s 35th anniversary is also an opportunity for individuals, organizations, agencies, and companies to contribute to support the school.“Everyone is invited to come and celebrate with us,” Chiokai said. “Everyone’s participation is highly appreciated.”Moreover, individuals or groups interested to learn more about the celebration or the school can call 535-1016 or email: [email protected].
