THE Tinian Diamond Casino, which will open soon, is now hiring.
Big Investment Group, which owns the new casino, has not specified how many people it plans to hire, but Tinian Mayor Edwin P. Aldan said several Tinian local residents along with former Tinian Dynasty employees who also worked with Imperial Pacific International are applying.
Aldan said the new casino investor has made a commitment to prioritize locals for job positions.
Tinian Diamond Casino has been trying its best to reach out to eligible applicants, but recruitment “has been very slow,” the mayor said.
On Thursday, Tinian Diamond Casino announced on its website that it was hiring for the following positions: finance director (preferably Chinese speaking, but not required), slot technician, IT executive and maintenance worker.
Aldan said Tinian Diamond Casino has a two-story hotel with 36 rooms. The casino games include baccarat, roulette, blackjack, slot machines and sports betting.
The casino hotel will also operate a roll-on/roll-off ferry that will transport people to and from Saipan.
Aldan said the ferry and its terminal are very important to the casino operations because the investor is leasing a property of the Commonwealth Ports Authority, and the lease agreement requires that there be a port-related activity in the area.
